I have decided yet another year I am going to do a 365 Project (or 366 because of the leap year!) I've decided this year is the year I'll actually finish one!
I did a 30 Day Challenge back in 2012, you can see it here on my blog, Create Something Out of Nothing. (Wow... look at my growth...)
It always seems like a great idea at the beginning of the year, one picture a day, how hard will that be!!! But I know right off the bat that if I try to post once a day I'm only setting myself up for failure!
My husband and I have this philosophy (which you can apply to just about everyone and everything); if you set someone up (i.e. our toddler or our dog) for success, they can only achieve success and same is true for the opposite. So if I post weekly I know I am setting myself up to be more successful!
Some of you may be wondering what a 365 project is! Why do people do it, what's the point? I'm not sure who came up with the idea or how long it's been around...but it's a combination of things, photographers, bloggers, hobbyists, really anyone can do it. It's a personal, creative, growth project. The only way to get better at something is to practice... and this is exactly what this is for. Practicing our skills, getting better at shooting in different lighting situations, being creative, trying to new things... etc...
My only goals for this project is, except for the obviously, stick with it and shoot at least once a day, is to hone my skills and push myself beyond just the basics. I feel like I've mastered the basic of my camera and photoshop...now it's time to really master who I am as an artist. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do this, but hopefully my photos will start to reflect it here!
Thanks for joining me along this journey, I would love to know if you have decided to try your own 366 this year! Let's connect!
