The hubby and I try not to endless scroll on our phones after the kids go to bed, but this season of the Bachelorette has a high TSOP (Time Spent on Phones). I've been feeling a bit uninspired and unsure of social media these days. It seems like everyone has something to say and share (yes, including myself), but it can feel overwhelming at times. I was just about to go to bed when I came upon these quote and it instantly hit me like a ton of bricks.
This is everything that embodies why I want to take photographs for others. I want to change the perspective of why and when you need photographs. I believe it's any day of the year! Real life is the best life.
Trust me, I'll be the first to admit that there are days I wouldn't want to be in front of the camera and the thought of a stranger coming into my home with their camera seems beyond crazy!
I've heard it all:
We aren't that interesting, what are you going to capture?
All my kids do is fight.
All I do is yell at my kids.
Our house is so messy.
We take photos with our phones, why do we need to hire a photographer?
I'm a hot mess, I need to lose 10lbs, what would we wear, etc.
You'd be surprised what happens in a given day. If you have small children, you know that it changes like the weather...anything is possible. I believe there's beauty in the ordinary. There are so many things you don't see as a parent and yet these are the exact moments you want to remember forever.
Life is messy, joyful, funny, weird, and full of all kinds of emotions, but it's also filled with quiet, tender moments. As parents, we can't seem to race to the finish line (aka bedtime) each night, where we can decompress from the days happenings and reflect, relax or whatever.
My hope for you as my client is this; at the end of the day you will see your memories in the wall, looking back at you and smile at how awesome your life is!
